Interesting "Fat" Gene Articlle

Hey Gays,

I found this snippet about people of European descent having a "Fat" Gene

I'm sure some people are genetically bound to carry more fat. I see it all in my family. I have 2 siblings that are thin, one that is average, but he was an athlete and worked out all the time and my youngest brother also has the same struggles with weight that I do.

It seems to me that it's obvious there are links. My mother was always thinner in her younger days and my father was too but he gained a lot of weight and my fathers father was huge. I would always think I was cursed with my father's side's weight problem.

Now my hair of course is almost all gone, LOL but my father has thick curly wavy hair and my mothers hair is very thin...who knows.

I love how the article states exercise will help...LOL. I love that! Do we not hear that everyday!

The Urban Beach

Hey Gays,

On Sunday I had to go to my piano man's place out in Rockaway Park, Queens. I of course being a manhattan dweller shuttered at the notion of a 1.5 hour train ride out there, yikes. Who in the hell would want to live out there....

The trip was probably like 2 hours each way from door to door. I had never been down there before but I have to say that the beach is enormous and the boardwalk is really nice. it reminded me of the coast of connecticut, where I grew up. I was really shocked at the amount of beach and then I was told it was the largest Urban beach in the world.

There are so many things to do the NYC area and honestly you only get to do and see a portion of it. I think next summer we'll have to go down for the day for some beach fun and hang out.

Here are a couple of pics from the boardwalk, really nice

Who knew??

Hard hearted Hanna

Hey Gays,

We were suppose to go have a lovely dinner with friends tonight but the MTA system can't handle anything when it rains. They already put out a warning for service disruptions before we have a drop of rain...

I hate that! Our friends do live in upper Manhattan so it's like a 45 minute subway ride and some of it is above ground so i guess if you have 50 mile an hour winds that could pose a problem. I was looking forward to a good time though after the workweek so I guess I better run out and get some booze.

I think we'll do mojito's. Is there really anything else to do during a huge rainstorm in NYC but drink...I hate when it rains here, its so messy to get around. It's 2pm and no rain yet so Hanna better not be a bust, damn her! I want to sheets of rain..LOL

Ok, so then let me tell you about what happened on Thursday. I was supposed to get vitamin b 12 shots per my gastro doctors recommendation. He told me to call my primary care doctor to set them up so I called them (Callen Lorde)and set them up. Now i asked them if i needed a script or something because gastro guy didn't give me one. They said no, you just some in for the shot.

So I go on Thursday and am brought back by one of the nurses named Will and when I get in the room , he said "Do you have it", i said "have what?"he then said "the b-12, we don't have that on hand , usually you pick up at pharmacy and then we just inject it". I of course was like "Oh, my doc said to just come here" and got up and kind of huffed out of the room and he tried to apologize and I said don;t worry my dr. is an idiot. So then I went to the gastro guy to ask for a script to get the b-12and then reset the appointment for shot. They tell me that my primary needs to prescribe it and have it on hand and they give me a script to the primary to set up an appointment to have them get me B-12.

This whole thing is a mess and it just proves to me that the medical community has become more and more chaotic. Nothing is easy anymore and I think it is because of Insurance companies, they have all these doctors dumbed down, not sure what they can and cannot do, it's very odd. The patient is the only on who suffers and at this point I just want to forget about it. I'm going to call my primary doctor again and try and figure out what to do, though this seemed like this would be a no brainer..

The funny thing was this morning it dawned on me after listening to Sirius that the nurse who I was dealing with at Callen Lorde was Will Wikle. I guess he's in that movie another gay sequel and one of the actors mentioned he is still a nurse by day in NY..It must have been him but he shaved most of his hair off but now that I think about it, it was Will Wikle from LOGO travel show. Oh, dear I gave Will Wikle attitude...yikes!! LOL. if I go back will he stick me harder...

I do have to figure this out or this fat gay will go crazy...I need my shots!!

This is me tired of it all

Sarah Palin, I can't fucking believe it

Hey Gays,

Well now...I've been quiet on politics because you know its a losing battle, i feel, to even discuss it...

Our government is so out of control on all levels for 2 reasons, I believe.

One is money and the other is complacency. As far as money goes the shift in wealth in this country and around the world is not good. The gap between the rich and the middle class and the poor has become too vast and people who shouldn't have money are loaded with it, jackasses that play the stock market and win don't tend to spend their money on anything but themselves, big houses, big cars, etc. etc. etc. When the balance of wealth is more even then it seems the world is a more bearable place. Living in NYC you get to see first hand the crazy of wealth up close and gays it is scary.

The second is complacency, the knowing that everything is fucked up but not doing anything about it. We now live in a country where protesting is looked upon as being unpatriotic. To tell you the truth if it weren't for protests in this country(violent ones), nothing would have ever happened. I marched during the Republican convention when they were in NY in 2004 and though I felt good about Marching, I felt that it was worthless because when other Americans think it is okay to go to war for no reason and argue amongst themselves rather than at the government than nothing will change. The last time there was radical change in this country was the 1960's and early 70's and back then we had violent protests that shook people up. Today, nothing changes because no one wants to listen.

This brings me to my title Sarah Palin. Talk about something that comes out of utter complacency, I've never seen anything like this before. John McCain, the maverick, picks a running mate just because he thinks he can gain women's votes. I know all Presidential nominee's pick running mates to gain a state or a minority vote, etc., but choosing this woman just goes to show you how the government knows people in this country are dumb. They really think people will fall for this smoke screen.

Do we really want this woman to possibly be president. I could not imagine it...but as I sit here and write this people are actually contemplating it. We are also being told that her 17 year old daughter "Bristol" should be off limits....why? isn't it important to know that a person who could become president by default mothers her children.

I give you this..take a look at Chelsea Clinton and then take a look at "Bristol", please take a look at Amy Carter compared to this situation. It amazes me how people look at everything so black and white. I know not all kids are a product how a parent raises a child but honestly when i look at those kids with her, they look manipulated and forced into behaving a certain way. I also love how "Bristol" held her baby brother to hide her stomach....I just can't get over republicans and how they process situations.

I'm not a violent person but why is there no upheavals any longer. I think Cindy Sheehan was the closest person we have had to a radical in a long time. I think we need more Cindy sheehans in our country or we'll keep ending up with people like Sarah Palin in power, which truly sucks...

Plus look at that nut Cindy McCain, what a nut job she is....she has to hold onto her tax break or else!

My favorite Movies

hey gays,

One of the comments posted made me think of "Steel magnolia's". One of my favorite movies especially for one liner's. After I thought about it I realized all of my favorite movies with a few exception's are movies filled with classic "One Liners"

Here are a few of my favorites and the one liners I love

"Moonstruck"

Do you love him, Loretta? Aw, ma, I love him awful.Oh, God, that's too bad.

Now he's going to play that damn Vicki Carr record, and when he comes to bed he won't touch me.

I can't sleep any more. It's too much like death.

"Hairspray" (The original, not the new crappy musical)

It's the times. They are a-changin'. Something's blowing in the wind. Fetch me my diet pills, would you?

Fatty, fatty, two-by-four. Can't get through the dressing room door?

I watch that tramp and I'm embarrassed to be white.

"Die Mommie Die"

Buster, if you want any singin' outta me, you better haul out that bratwurst and spread some mustard on it.

Darling daughter, you sound like a square from Squaresville.

"Death Becomes Her"

This is life's ultimate cruelty. It offers us a taste of youth and vitality, and then it makes us witness our own decay.

Wrinkled, wrinkled little star... hope they never see the scars.

"Nine to Five"

Well, I say we hire a couple'a wranglers to go upstairs and beat the shit out of him.

I'm no fool. I've killed the boss, you think they're not gonna fire me for a thing like that?

There are so many but these are just a few and some of these lines I use from time to time....just for the hell of it!!

Anyone else have any favorite "one-liner" movies...
